Ice Racing
Our big to-do this weekend...Ice Racing in Georgetown. Land Rover Flatirons hosts the event and there are several races going on simultaneously on the lake. There are rescue teams on-site just in case anyone breaks thru the ice but they take huge measures to make sure the ice is thick enough for vehicles to drive, I mean slide on. These are regular tires, no studs. The ice cracks and pops and freaks you out but it's not going anywhere. But you are once you put your warmed shoes on the ice. They slip out from under you immediately. Better to just stay in the car especially with the 55mph wind kicking up all the snow and ice chips. Sorry no picks specifically fo us.
Starting line.

Graham and Connie in Toki. It's hard to convery in photos but they're making a turn on the course as the wheels indicate but are sliding rapidly to the left. You kinda make the turn and wait for your rear-end to catch up.

And Graham and Connie again on the snowy, blustery Georgetown Lake.
